Vous connaissez sans doute, le truculent Pic vert et l’éclatant Pic épeiche qui fréquentent les parcs et jardins. Mais avez-vous déjà vu le grand Pic noir, le rare Pic Mar ou le minuscule Pic épeichette ? C'est lors de la très belle balade que j'ai eu l'occasion de faire découvrir ces oiseaux aux incroyables particularités anatomiques, leur lien indéfectible avec les vieux arbres et le bois mort et de comprendre quel rôle irremplaçable ils jouent dans la préservation d’un très grand nombre d’oiseaux et de petits mammifères cavernicoles de nos forêts.

Le sortie était initialement prévue dans le bois de Morrière au lieu dit "la Pierre Monconseil" mais celui-ci est maintenant fermé suite à un terrible feu de forêtle 19 juilllet. Le bilan est conséquent : trente hectares sont partis en fumée dont dix dans une tourbière d’action difficile.

Il est important de rappeler l'extrême vigilance dont nous devons faire preuve lors de nos déplacements en forêt. N'hésitez surtout pas à signaler tout comportement irresponsable si vous en êtes témoins.
