Un très beau dimanche d'hiver où nombreux sont ceux qui n'ont eu le courage de quitter la douceur de la couette. Et c'est bien dommage car pour le tout petit groupe de courageux, ce fut une randonnée de toute beauté dans une ambiance brumeuse apportant un cachet mystérieux aux paysages et villages traversés.

La diversité du relief donne à cette partie du Valois un intérêt tout particulier. Au centre, un vaste plateau calcaire recouvert d’une glèbe lourde et féconde, propice à une agriculture riche, domine vers le nord les nombreuses petites vallées des rus et ruisseaux rejoignant la vallée de l’Automne.
